So I'm very pleased to announce that I have been accepted into the XCP Brand Ambassador program. XCP is a small UK based company who produce a professional range of maintenance and protection products that can be used across a wide range of applications, tools and equipment.
I first became aware of XCP earlier this year and as a biker who cares about his bikes, I'm always on the lookout for products that will make my life easier, be that cleaning or protecting. I'd read that their products were used by the Honda UK racing team and that they are now the only maintenance spray used by the AA (Automobile Association), which got me interested.
Following them on social media, I saw them advertise for Brand Ambassadors, and already being impressed with their products, especially the chain lube and multi-purpose cleaners, I applied.
With a few forms signed, this amazing pack arrived in the post a few weeks later.
I'll be updating you with my thoughts on the products over the next few months and I see no reason why I will be disappointed with the other products in the range. I'm actually really excited to explore their abilities and possible applications and it looks like WD40 and ACF-50 are the past with XCP being the future.
With ice and snow around, it was about a week between rides and when I finally got onto the bike, it was 4 degrees, damp and greasy. I had to commute across the countryside and I'm not sure if it was the lack of riding that week, or just the way I worked with the bike, but that ride to work was utterly thrilling. I certainly wasn't riding as hard as I would in the height of summer, but the bike, and especially the Pirelli Angel GT tyres, gave me feedback in spades. This feedback and a good knowledge of the road and the surface changes, made the ride unforgettable. I got to work beaming and the bike was filthy. It's days like these where I truly question part of the logic about putting a bike away for winter.

    Me

My name is Matt Brown and I'm a UK journalist formerly based in London, but now calling the South of England home. I've been riding bikes since 2007, but got hooked straight away. Nothing gives me the feeling of freedom, even when stuck in a city. In 2010 I became a RoSPA gold rider, but when it comes down to it, I'm Just a normal man, riding his bikes as often as he can.
