I've done some work on the ZX7R page today, but yesterday I did a bit of work on the Ducati itself. I had taken off my side panels of my 1098 to fix an oil leak, which I did, and wanted to clean up the two panels and put them back on. Cleaning done, right panel on no problem, left panel..... I've managed to cross thread two of the three bolts that fix the panel to the nose across the top. The bolt has hooked onto and the nut in it rubber housing and wont do up or undo just turning around like some sorry pastiche of the magic f-ing roundabout. I've tried all manner of things and really annoyingly marked the fairing a bit trying to cut it off. Its only a small mark, but knowing that I did it has really p###ed me off!. It was bad enough doing it to one, then when I did the second, I thought ARRRGGGHHHH. I popped to the Metropolis today and spoke to Arthur, my mechanic, who a great bloke (in fact that all are down there, I'd be lost without them) and he gave me some pointers. Failing that, he said bring it in and he'd have a crack at it. Before I have another go, I need to go and buy some longer needle nose plyers to help

MeMy name is Matt Brown and I'm a UK journalist formerly based in London, but now calling the South of England home. I've been riding bikes since 2007, but got hooked straight away. Nothing gives me the feeling of freedom, even when stuck in a city. In 2010 I became a RoSPA gold rider, but when it comes down to it, I'm Just a normal man, riding his bikes as often as he can.
