I spent most of Sunday stripping the body work off both bikes, cleaning them down and spraying them with some anti-corrosion stuff. The Ducati is currently sat under it's cover in the garage all hooked up to the Optimate, whilst the poor Zx7, isn't being let off so easily. I have always found it slightly disconcerting that after treating the bikes and running them for a few minutes at standstill, that the amount of smoke produced as the heat burns off any excess protection. Its really arid too and it stank and that was after doing it on the driveway on quite a windy day.
Well the Bike show started this weekend at the NEC in Brum and I'll be up there this Friday enjoying all things motorbike related. Hopefully I'll be able to get some nice photos which I'll incorporate into a review for the site. All this crappy weather is highlighting the awful condition of some vehicles that drive in London. There is so much oil being dumped onto the road I'm amazed more engines don't just seize, stranding the vehicles. The annoying thing is that if this causes an accident the driver will and could never be found, leaving the rider to pick up the pieces...literally.

Sorry it been a while, work and life getting in the way again. Anyway.......although okay during normal riding, during spirited road riding my workhorse Zx7R has started jumping out of 2nd gear. Its only done it a few times and doesn't do it everytime, but this problem isnt going to go away and is only going to get worse
The bike is worth probably 1k if im lucky which leaves me with a dilemma. Do I try to get this fixed (expensive), buy another engine - which could even be a Zx9R engine or get rid of the bike. I dont really have the facilities to get the engine out of the frame myself, but Im fairly sure that I could fix it myself given a little guidance and time if I did. Its worth noting the rear shock is getting tired as well, which is just more expense Any suggestions? I dont know why it surprises me, but everytime I ride I just cant get over how bad some, not all, some of the drivers in London are. When in the car, I'm isolated and only really get to observe the driving of the car in front, but on the bike, I see a whole new world. Today I was approaching a mini roundabout, slowing as the vision left and right is blocked by houses and I you can only see its clear a few yards from the junction. Low and behold some geezer in a car approaching at 40mph from the right, this is a residential area as well. I was safe as I was almost at a stop when I saw him approaching, but somebody coming the other way with the same attitude would have really struggled. Idiot. As we all know, thats just the tip of the iceberg. Driving in London is like going to battle, I just make sure Ive got the best armour and
Apart from a showing a few friends, today was the first day I actually opened up the site to more people. Im asking my friends at http://ducatiforum.co.uk to give me their feedback. So a big hi and indeed thanks to those of you who are reading. Pete, you are always a great help, the photo of me on the homepage is the one you took at Brands Hatch
Well I went out for what was the last ride on the Ducati for 2012. You can read my account on the Ducati page Ive also done a bit more updating on the editorial for a few pages and set up an ad account. I very very doubt it was make me any money, but in the words of Tesco.

MeMy name is Matt Brown and I'm a UK journalist formerly based in London, but now calling the South of England home. I've been riding bikes since 2007, but got hooked straight away. Nothing gives me the feeling of freedom, even when stuck in a city. In 2010 I became a RoSPA gold rider, but when it comes down to it, I'm Just a normal man, riding his bikes as often as he can.
